What is Going on at the American Journal of Entrepreneurship

eagues and Friends,

We hope this message finds you in good health and good spirits. We continue to make progress as the American Journal of Entrepreneurship reached its fifth year. As you may know this journal outgrew its old name, the Southern Journal of Entrepreneurship. We have now published two issues with our new name and look forward to publishing our third.

Shawn M. Carraher acted as the guest editor for our first issue as the American Journal of Entrepreneurship. That issue focused on social entrepreneurship, a quickly growing field within entrepreneurship. So far all accounts of that issue are positive, and we look forward to seeing many citations from that issue.

David T. Mitchell acted as special guest editor for our microfinance issue, and we think that some of our best articles are in that issue. An especially wide range of empirical techniques were used to analyze microinstitutions including stochastic frontier analysis and propensity score matching.

We have two more issues coming out soon. One will be a regular issue from traditional submissions that analyze on a wide variety of topics including teaching cases, information for practitioners, and academic work. We are also looking forward to a special issue edited by Scott Beaulier and Dan Sutter that looks at economic freedom and entrepreneurship. In 2015 we anticipate publishing a special issue on “Human Resource Issues in New Ventures” as well as a special issue on “Entrepreneurship Education in Different Countries.”

As always we also invite you to submit your research to the journal. We are in:

  • EBSCO
  • Cabells
  • ProQuest

Kindest Regards,

Kirk and Mitch
